CHAMPATSCH
Pure free ride is a simple description of the tour. Weather conditions were finally right, start of the descent is on 2800 meters. Over the ridge begins to descend to the north side and the old and new snow have been making conditions unrideable.
First, we take the cable car to Motta Naluns station. For warm up, a steep upward slope, gravel road changes within walking path full of rocks and mud puddles where the wheels sink half way in. Nature around us makes us feel we are not in Europe, jacks come across path. Difficulty path has been improved and once again the path goes steep up and shortly before end I have to walk uphill, is too steep for me.
Descent through the ridge on the other side without path, on screed doing big turns is unique and something that could do all day. Little guidance is necessary to find the beginning of the path and then just down the beautiful landscape and what is the best unlimited quantities of different single trails. Experience enriches the stream crossing and crossing two bridges over ravines and isolated hotel in Val Sinestra.
Shortly before the hotel Val Sinestra at a difficult section, rock bounce me to left side of the path, where my bike stays and already I have seen a few meters below the tree for a possible landing. It did not work out, in addition to lands on the tree I land on stump tree. The result is 10 days rest and anointing of painful side.

DAVOS II
The first visit left feeling that Davos offers even more than we had experienced.
The road to Davos leads through the Flüela Pass 2300 meters and has a regular bus line, so the decision was not difficult. We left the car at the pass and hit the single trail to Davos.
Brooks, stone panels and rocks are the most common obstacles in the upper part. The rocks cut the flow of trail but brings interesting technic parts like pedalling during lifting up the front wheel.
The second half of the descent brings flow and ends up directly in Davos.
Parsenn lift, first train and second with chair lift up to 2650 meters of the station, where all white of snow in August. We decide to descend towards the lake through Meierhoftalli. Freeride through the snowfields to the lake, then all went smoth with genuine multi narrow turns, technical sections and a great panorama.
For the second descent we chose the direction Felsenweg leading towards Schatzalp, reached the desired point on the ridge via a series of tunnels. The path becomes more and more interesting and challenging, with different lines to drive. For last part you can choose real downhill: steep and roots.
Lisa gets the car by bus,I get a beer. Now we love to have more Davos!

DAVOS
Davos-Klosters in 2010 has become opened destination for mountain biking. Our day in June in Davos-Klosters started Rinerhorn. Very funny trails, different variants, in the end we went to Sertigtal, that offers nice flow single trail. We had to watch for many hikers.
The disappointment was that Parsenntrain to Weissfluhjoch was still closed, we were in the date too early, the Weissfluhjoch will offer you the best downhill’s. Well, we tried our luck at the Jacob Horn, which is available for transporting bikes only to the first station.
So we visited the next train Gotschna in the monastery, which was also closed. A great pity, because the promises were huge, two different trails of varying difficulty should result in downhill. So we drove the last possible gondola, Madrisa, there are two different Trottinetdownhills and the bikers are conducted on the monster track. Strait, steep stone paths extended, and without change, that is to pass? We tried from the beginning to find an exit, because we wanted to exit real fun! By accurate scanning of the roadside we were able to branch off on a track to our taste. Fine root passages and tricky corners now ended our day find the trail of Davos Klosters. Now we had had enough!
We will come again when the remaining lines are open! Ciao Davos!

BERNINA PASS
With friends from Slovenia, Maja and Grga, we rode the advertised Freeride route between Pontresina and Poschiavo. The ramps from north and south of the pass we did by train and enjoyed the view and the many curves, thereby this rail line is a great architectural work! Each time on Bernina Ospizio then we rolled on bikes downhill.
Our first departure to Poschiavo we went unfortunately exactly by description and came onto a busy line that did not convince us with freeride feeling. Probably better would be the variation across the Val Pila what we will try next time. However, shortly after Cavaglia an interesting variation starts along the railway, which then leads into a subtle curved trail in the woods.
The second descent back to Pontresina we liked much better, also much traveled, but bearable if you can wait a while relaxing in the meadow before you start. A flowy, flat trail to push and jump all the way down to Pontresina, really funny! In between we have tapped into a path to Morteratsch, fine root and rock sections with downhill character, jammi!
Nevertheless we have only made downhillruns, all four of us were totally destroyed and found healthy sleep!

LIVIGNO MOTTOLINO BIKEPARK
We love Downhill! Two days in Livigno have again fully met. In addition to our bike park experiences we have fully enjoyed Italy: espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, pizza, grappa and tiramisu, mmnjam! Funny Italians in the pizzeria and Swiss acquaintances in the bike park. Nice!
Fine, flowy trails with turns, minidirts, small jumps over roots and rocks, drops for the free fall and North Shore for balance titillation. There is a World Cup DH course also for steepness experience. And as extra fun you can jump at the end in a cushion of air. Nice nice! Go again!
Sunshine in our hearts, big smile and burning forearms we took home. Of course also ricotta, mozzarella, mortadella, prosciutto, dried tomatoes and Bardolino ;-) Bella Italia!

LATSCH-SÜDTIROL
Hopps, across the border and we are in Latsch, a wellknowned freeride paradise in the region Vinschgau, Italy.Wir searched the Internet and selected the yellow line 4B / 4 to find out a narrow and tricky path. The choice was good: up to Töbrunn and into the trail. By chance we met a few tourists who told us about the closed Alm, so we had no reason to take even more altitude. All we want is to ride cool trails down. And that one was really cool, as promised in the map! Really beautiful passages with technical requirements. All in all a fine departure for a relatively short ride up! We will come back for sure, get up earlier ;-) and test more!
Thanks to the team of bikereldorado.com for the well-prepared map!

VALMALA
At that time i was not sure how much snow is still on hight of 2400 meters, lots of rain did help melting the snow.
Easy start with Scuol gondola to 2100 meters. Light rain and not promising view to the sky but however: assent on gravel road and short part single trail to Alp Clunas 2433 meters and Muot d l´Huom 2512 meters. Few times had to climb over parts of track which were still covered with snow. Area between meadow Clunas and pass Muot da l´Huom is full of big avalanche breaks and is interesting place to make photos.
After passing Muot da l´Huom action start as single trail descends all the way to alp Valmala. Single trail to meadow Laret was interesting riding as surface was very wet. Alp Laret is where to continue to the right and slowly descending easy single trail. Last part where you can see road and house at the bottom is very steep and technical demanding.
Coming to road and crossing small bridge is where my real single trail started. I was continuing direction Ardez on right side of valley. Fact is that single trail is in lenght of ¾ use sheep. All the way down to Ardez single trail was mix of mud and sheep shit, after a few days of hard rain. Imagine!!!

Scuol Engadin Switzerland
We had made a decision. Small town or big village in the middle of mountains. Old houses with paintings and black color larch wood make this place special and beautiful. On the bottom of valley is river Inn surrounded with mountain peaks high to 3000 meters.
Cycling is made strait out of house as is not much flat around here. Paths are good, some sweep clean, moistly larch forests and low level of rain.
Few photos to tease you.

Sveti Peter
Church of Saint Peter close to Begunje in Gorenjska region is well known for its nice view.
Saint Peter offers interesting mountain biking too. Narrow single trails and steep scree runs. Here you will experience how is to bike when rear wheel is blocked and terrain is that steep that is hard to control speed on loos surface. As church of Saint Peter is well known by weekend walkers, we recommend NOT to plan tour on weekend and NOT to use track that leads directly to church.
First you have to find gravel road to valley Završnica. On top of steep ascent go direction Smokuški vrh. On top starts very technical downhill, only for experienced bikers. Continue direction west to village Rodine. Downhill offers narrow single trails and steep loose gravel parts which are unique.
Short tour with hard up hill and very steep downhill. Singletrailskala S3-4

Matajur
Place where you have big choice of tours is Kobarid. As clouds were covering valley already for two weeks we thought tops have to be in sun. Only few meters of mountain top Matajur was in sun, clouds dancing around gave us few moments to enjoy view on surrounding mountains and mountain Krn. Snow tops had winter. Downhill in to mist, it took as a while to find path direction Kobarid. Trail was full of leafs what made it to super slide trail, where I enjoyed and was tired after first half as was lot of work on keeping balance as sliding all the time. Great fun and can imagine what view you have on nice day.

Ajdovšcina: The wind rumples hair and threws the leaves of the beeches, sunglasses on. The day begins well!
Ten of us go on that trip, plus Ajdovščina crew. Highmeters uphill are made thanks to the locals in a few minutes. Conclusion: Two mountains, two runs, three flat tires and 14 faces with smile from ear to ear. New trails with technical stepdowns and flow. A wonderful Sunday! Thanks to the Ajdovščina-Crew!

Opening of the Winter Season
Winter temperatures are very quickly come when we think about the first week of October, with summer temperatures. The valley is still quite unmolested, but in the mountains above 1500 meters, we have to expect surprises.
The last two tours in northern Slovenia were each a spontaneous decision without more thoughts or waiting for good weather-forecast, so very interesting.
The first few kilometers are to warm up the limbs, there is only a short rest, because otherwise the cold controls your body. The tea in the hut helps to feel good.
The descent begins with wet soil, snow is like icing sugar all around us. But what an experience! How beautiful is the biking, the atmosphere is the important thing!

Slocamp
Three Austrians take a look over the border to Slovenia. What's here? Mountains, valleys, forests, water, stones, earth .. and in the end the sea!
The Nanos mountain, the mountain's face, from the headquarters in Slap, we look at it. The first ride along the massif leads over its narrow paths through a flooded beech forest until we arrive in Vipava, a sleepy place with good ice bar.
The vineyards on the other side of the valley offer far more than vine: From the remote village to village, even lonelier up to the highest increase, walnuts and figs are our companions. Over a widely ramified trail we ride downhill, through the woods with beeches and oaks. Through tall foliage and soft forest floor, studded with stones. 'Open up the brakes!'
Vremščica, the shepherd mountain, has a massive stone at the summit. From here we can see the valley to the great cave Škocijanska Jama. There is now a breeze. The last few meters of asphalt: Who's the fastest? Otherwise, strikes again with the comfort, food and dinner walk to the 200m high cliff included. Which stone comes to the small lake in the depths?
The high peaks Caven and Nanos are struggling for recognition in the fog, we are swallowed up by white and spat out below. The ways in which we follow are stripes in the green, and Jerome's Church is a stone ghost.
Sun, give us your warmth! While it rains in the rest of the country, we come with a few drops of it and enjoy the warm temperatures riding along the short Slovenian coast. Piran with red roofs and bustling town square, pizza, ports with ships and boats of all kinds and picturesque Solinenfelder accompany us to the Croatian border. Fish in colorful diversity pleased and satisfied our taste buds. Back to the starting point we use the shortcut through the tunnel. Oh, we could keep it!

ZELL AM SEE
On bike again! This time I’ve done a tour to 2000 meters high Schmittenhöhe, some mountain where bikers are not allowed. For that reason I started from back side of mountain where should be no walkers, there were a lot of cows and horses. Ascent was on some parts steep, in general all time on gravel road. Downhill I moved further to west looking for single trail, where I had 50% success, what has become normal here as they put lots of market paths on gravel roads that they build for needs of transporting wood.

FEMALE DOWNHILL WEEKEND WAS GREAT
'Hvala lepa' - 'Prosim'
The participants dealt with not only downhill, but also with the Slovenian language to communicate with the friendly liftpersonal in Kranjska Gora. 'Hvala Koala', haha!
The park is ideally suited for the first safe jumps to approach without fear. The wild storm the day and night before brought us difficult conditions with mud curves and slippery roots passages. But on the basis of professional tips, all learned to deal with it well. I am pleased with the rapid implementation and small and big success of the girls!
Statements:
'For me, who is almost exclusively with male drivers on the track, it was an extraordinary experience to pass on my knowledge to women. Repetition is already planned: First, it was a nice break from the racing world, but I also just had a lot of fun with the girls! " - Helene Fruhwirth, our Race-Pro
"The jumps and drops here are perfect for learning, I can put the fear of it fully." - Marion H
'Nevertheless, it is full of slippery and steep, I have a much better feeling in the woods over the many roots. As I am a visual type, it was perfect for me to ride the line behind a professional. I just trust myself and my bike.' - Melanie
'The hot tub had real style, relax, yeah! " - Marion G

NEUKIRCHEN AND GROSSVENEDIGER
After one year Neukirchen surprised again. It’s an interesting location between Grossvenediger in south and Tirol on north. Nearby is Krimml with its Achental.
Wildkogel offers two official trails: Wildkogel trail and Rob-J trail, new this year is Channel trail (dual track). On August 22 - 23 was the big event Trail Master taken place.
First two trails start from same place top of gondola and have drop of 1300 meters. The downhill tracks don’t have man made objects; they are 100% pure single trail.
Wildkogel trail goes under gondola. Technical is not demanding, can be done with hard tail bike, and becomes fun when you do it with full suspension bike. The trail has roots parts, stony parts and great flow. It can go on and on.
Rob-J trail is located more to west and is more technical demanding. First part has few stone sections, as stones you find in whole upper part. Lower part goes threw forest and has nice soft pine needles parts, crazy.
Channel trail is dual track with two lines: hard with road gap and easy.
Had nice time again, like one year before, friendly locals, relaxed atmosphere. We like it and will come back 100%.
